Running is among the best aerobic exercises for physical conditioning of your heart and lungs.
Studies have shown the health benefits to be enormous. Running can reduce the likelihood of everything from the common
cold to cancer. Your stamina will increase, and you most likely will lose weight! It's not about being a track star
or an elite athlete. It's about being the best you can be! It's about learning to run better and having fun. You don't have
to be a great runner to begin. You may be surprised at how well you do. This running program is unlike any
other. There is NO COMPETITION. You will feel motivated and empowered!
What is now an international success, first began as a little 8-week running
program for a small group of women in Orange County, Calif., who wanted some additional exercise one year during those holiday
months between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. As a personal trainer and group fitness instructor with experience and a
passion for running, Coach Christina Lucy designed the EZ8 Running Program. It was initially created for a group of middle-aged
women who ran an average of a 10- to 11-minute mile and had the desire to run an 8-minute mile; thus the name, “easy
eight.” The EZ8 Running Program was such a success that the women requested for it to continue.
It did continue, and with huge success. EZ8 began attracting women from
all over the county! Soon, Coach Christina’s little EZ8 group was filled with a diversity of women varying in
age, race, economical status, and fitness levels, yet all sharing one common passion...running. An environment was created
to help bring together a very tight and devoted group of women who were reaching their fitness goals, and having fun doing
it.
